I have spent the last 12 years running a successful board and train business where dogs from across the country came to stay with me for weeks, months and sometimes up to a year at a time. I’ve lived with and trained every kind of dog imaginable – from bouncy family puppies to dogs with severe aggression and complex behavioural issues.

For over a decade, I have specialised in developing high-drive dogs and helping them become loyal well behaved family members. My expertise in building rock-solid foundations has led many of my dogs to have successful careers within the police and security sectors across the UK.

Why I Founded WK9A

While the residential “board and train” style worked well, I noticed a recurring problem: the dog would be perfect for me, but some owners would struggle to maintain those results at home. I realised that the best-trained dog in the world is only as good as the person holding the lead.

I decided to move away from “doing it for you” and start coaching you. My goal is to give you the skills, the “why” behind the training, and the confidence to handle your dog yourself so the results last for the life of the dog.

My Philosophy: clear communication

My approach is built on proven results, not quick fixes. I believe in the science of clear communication. By teaching you how to communicate effectively with your dog, we remove the confusion that leads to bad habits. We move at a pace that is fair to the dog, ensuring they truly understand the rules before we add the distractions of the real world.
